Welcome to the March GetSocial product update. With this release, we’ve focused on improving the user experience for Smart Invites and simplifying SDK testing. Read on to see how you can take advantage of these new features.
Landing Page Customization
By popular demand, we’ve made it possible to configure Landing Page title, description, and image from the SDK side. Now, every Smart Invite can have a unique landing page content.
You can use it to share in-app generated content, like the best moment from the gameplay; or if you have a retail shop and allow users to share store items, you can customize landing page with feature graphics and product description.
Landing page customized from the SDK
Customizing landing page image has one more benefit. When Smart Invite is shared via social apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram etc, rich previews generated by these apps will fetch and display the customized image instead of the default share image.
New Smart Invite Channels
The goal of GetSocial is to enable trackable content sharing and app invites natively through as many platforms as possible. This month we added native support for Snapchat (Android only), Viber, and Telegram.
To enable new channels for your users, go to GetSocial Dashboard → User Acquisition → Smart Invites tab and flip the appropriate toggles in the Invite channels section. No SDK update required for Android, and to enable for iOS either update to the latest SDK version or modify your app’s Info.plist manually to add the new URL schemes.
Simplified Install Attribution Testing
To prevent fraud, GetSocial will attribute install only if the app was installed on the device for the first time or after 30 days of uninstalling. Previously you had to reset the IDFA each time you wanted to test attribution from Smart Invites and Smart Links.
To simplify the process, we added the ability to specify the list of test devices on the GetSocial Dashboard. For these devices, the 30-day attribution filter will be ignored, and every install will be attributed. Installs will show up in analytics (updated hourly) and referral data received on the SDK side will have the
reinstall flag set to
Improved Docs Structure
Last but not the least, we’ve improved our documentation structure and added more information on testing the integration. Documentation is now separated into two parts:
- Product Guides that contain detailed product descriptions, best practices, and implementation guides.
- Knowledge Base that brings together answers to advanced setup and integration questions, like “Manual SDK initialization” or “Enabling Debug Logs”.
In case you missed
In the previous update, we added integration with Adjust and AppsFlyer. To start sharing your analytics and attribution data with Adjust or Appsflyer, go GetSocial Dashboard → Data Export → Integrations to enable these.
All the details on what events are shared can be found in our documentation.
